MINISTER Jimmy Deenihan was been called in to manage a spectacular situation at the railway station in Listowel where there's been a huge surge in the number of children looking for North Kerry Passports.
Children have also been turning up in their droves to other landmark attractions such as Crag Caves in Castleisland, the Aqua Dome in Tralee and Ballybunion Leisure Centre, requesting a free passport.

"I can assure the visitors to this part of the Kingdom that there will be no delay in issuing North Kerry Passports to the hundreds of children who are eager to visit us here. North Kerry is so magnificent we introduced a new passport to encourage families to stay longer and visit all the wonderful activities the region has to offer. The North Kerry Passport has been given the thumbs up by Fáilte Ireland who are co-funding the initiative with the North Kerry Family Fun Hub," said Minister Deenihan.
The North Kerry Passports are FREE and once children are residents of listed accommodation providers or have purchased an admission ticket to an attraction they can receive a stamp on the passport. After they have collected five stamps they can claim a prize from any listed member and once they have collected 10 stamps they will receive a free family pass to a listed attraction of their choice.
Kieran Ruttledge the Chairman of North Kerry Family Fun, who are promoting the passport giveaway, said he was excited by the initial response to the concept by children and parents from Kerry and beyond.
"This is a colourful and entertaining undertaking by the 35 tourism businesses involved in the North Kerry Family Fun Hub which was established three years ago by Fáilte Ireland to promote North Kerry as a family friendly destination. The group is managed by a voluntary steering committee representing members from attractions, activities & accommodation providers in Tralee, Listowel, Ballybunion, Tarbert and Castleisland," said Kieran Ruttledge.
Children can get their very own North Kerry Passport at tourist offices in Tralee, Killarney, and Listowel and from all North Kerry Family Fun members. Best of all, there are no waiting lists!
